Support Services

At Generations Support Services, we provide high-quality, personalised in-home support services tailored to meet each individual's unique needs across the Gold Coast, Logan and the Scenic Rim. Our dedicated team ensures that individuals and families receive the compassionate assistance they deserve.

The Australian Government subsidises a range of aged care services in Australia through a variety of different programs. These include Support at home and Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP). We offer a variation of the below services using these packages as well as fee for service, or Private Care.

Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP)

If you're living at home and need a little support, The Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) can help you remain independent at home.

The Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) is an entry level home help program for older people who need some help with daily tasks to live independently at home. These services can be accessed on a short-term, intermittent or ongoing basis.

Eligibility for the program is dependent on certain factors, including being:

    • 65 years or older (50 years or older for Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people), or
    • 50 years or older (45 years or older for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people), on a low income and homeless, or at risk of being homeless.

Generations Support Services provide CHSP services including Personal Care, Respite Care, Social Support and Domestic Assistance. A full list of our services is available below. To make an enquiry, or to learn more, please contact us or visit My Aged Care.

Support At Home Program

The Support at Home program was introduced in November 2025, replacing the Home Care Packages Program and the Short-term Restorative Care Programme. It improves access to services, products, equipment, and home modifications to help you remain living independently at home for longer.

Support at Home can be an option if you need a coordinated approach to the delivery of your help at home. Perhaps because you need help with many everyday tasks, or the care you need is more complex or intensive.

The Support at Home program offers a range of supports to help you stay living at home independently as you get older.

It offers:

  • Supports to maintain your independence, assist with everyday living activities, and provide clinical supports when you need them.
  • 8 support classification and budget levels, with funding up to $78,000 yearly*.
  • Two additional short-term funding pathways for restorative care and end-of-life support.
  • Separate funding for assistive technology and home modifications
  • Annual funding split into quarterly (3-monthly) budgets
  • Care management set at 10% of your budget, ensuring your funding goes towards your services

*Information current as of 1 October 2025.

Private Home Care

If you’re looking for additional home care support, or you’re not eligible for a government-funded care package, we can provide personalised support – as little or as much as you need – through private care.

This is often called ‘fee for service’, 'self-funded', 'private home support' and means we will invoice you directly for the care we deliver to you.

Am I eligible?

We offer private care to people who would like to access some support to stay living at home.

Self-funded care is a popular option if you:

  • Are not eligible for government-funded aged care.
  • Are a self-funded retiree who needs to pay the full income tested care fee to access a Home Care Package.
  • Are on the wait list for a Home Care Package but would like to receive some services straight away.
